As energy costs rise, your ability to remain competitive is threatened. Solar energy not only offers a more secure future through cost savings and stabilization but also provides your company the opportunity to be a leader in the green market as a company that takes a stand towards a positive impact on the community.

Leasing Versus Purchasing a Solar Power System
ACE offers several options for businesses who are interested in making the switch to clean, affordable -- and powerful -- solar energy. ACE Solar Power system solutions are scalable to your requirements.

One of the options includes leasing a solar solution. Another option is a power purchase agreement where your property is used to host a solar installation but you don't own the system. You host the system but someone else pays for the installation. You get clean and “green” energy to use and at affordable rates that are set at fixed rates rather than utility rates which are certain to continue to increase. Another option is you can finance your solar system if you want to own the solar system instead of continuing to pay rent for electricity to your local utility. The finance payments to own your own solar system are usually less than the amount you pay now to the electric utility.

What is your return on investment for the monthly expenditure to the electric utility now? You make “Nothing”, “Zippo”, its like paying rent every month. There's no return and just like a renter your rent will increase. Within ten years you will be paying twice as much for rent each month as you are now. Ouch! Stop paying rent and own for less than you are paying now to the utility.

Why is Solar Power Great for My Business?
To learn more about how solar will benefit your business we will need to understand how much power your business consumes over a year. We also need to know who is your utility provider and what applicable electric rates are you charged by the utility.

Solar Electric systems makes sense because of high electric rates, tiered rates, time-of-use rates, net-metering, federal tax rebates, state rebates, local utility incentive rebates, grants production incentives and special loan rates for solar.

Also there is the added bonus income from Renewable Energy Certs (REC's) or also known as "Green Tags", in the form of checks each year that help payback the investment in a solar system. You get paid for the power you produce with solar before you use it. That's right, think about this, you are actually going to get a check for the power you produce and then you get to use it also. (I hope I didn't lose you here. I know it sounds like I said you get paid and then you get to use the power you just got paid for and I did say that.). Wow!

Not only do you get paid before you use it, whatever you don't use you get to sell back to the utility. It’s like getting paid twice for the same kilowatt hour. And you get to sell back at the same rate the utility is charging you. That’s full retail. And when the utility raises the rates in the future you get an automatic rate increase for the power you sell to them as well. Because the utility or "net" meter does not know what are the rates. The meter just keeps track of how many kWh's you consume (meter spins forward) or how much your meter spins backwards (you are selling to them) when you are making power during the day. During the day you either slow-down the meter because you do not have to buy as much now because you are making your own power or you actually produce more power than you need during the day and your electric meter will actually spin backwards. You sell your extra power you don’t need back to the utility at the full rate (retail rate), whatever your utility charges you. With time-of-use meters you sell back during that part of the day you sell back for the same rate the utility charges which is usually a much higher rate during the day. And you buy back at night when the rates are lower usually at night. If the utility charges a tiered rate structure, based on how much you consume each month and the more you use the higher the rate. With solar there is also the advantage that you are actually taking off the most expensive kWh’s from the highest tier first and then buying at the lower tier rate. Buy low and sell high, that’s a good thing right?
